Some things begin out of necessity.
Heritage & Hearth was one of them. While living in Honduras, I found myself searching for something I couldn't find. Quality, natural skincare for my family that was honest to goodness effective. I wanted something clean and made with real ingredients, without a list of synthetics that left a toxic load behind. When those resources simply weren't available, I did what mothers have always done. I figured it out.
I began studying basic herbalism and learning which plants God had designed to soothe, nourish, and support healthy skin and address specific complaints. I started infusing oils with botanicals, blending salves and balms, and using them on my own family. We used them for dry skin, irritated skin, cuts and scrapes, bites, and for daily moisture. Having small children, I also needed it to be safe for their delicate skin. What started as necessity became a normal rhythm and soon that rhythm became a passion.
Word spread the way it does among friends, and I began sharing my balms with people around me who were dealing with various skin concerns. Time and again I watched them find the relief and results that they were looking for. There is something quietly profound about that. It is amazing to offer someone something pure and then to watch it work for them.
After ten years in Honduras, our family returned to the United States. I kept making my balms, the same way I always had, quietly, for my own family. But the more I looked around, the more I saw people searching for exactly what I had spent years learning to make. People exhausted by complicated ingredient lists. People who just wanted something real that really works.
And so Heritage & Hearth was born.
What we believe about ingredients

Every product we make begins with the same conviction: what you put on your skin matters. Your skin is your body's largest organ, and it deserves the same care and intention you give to what you feed your family.
That's why we never use fillers, synthetic fragrances, or ingredients we can't stand behind. Instead, every Heritage & Hearth formula is built on a small, purposeful collection of the finest natural ingredients available.
It starts with premium grass-fed beef tallow, an ingredient as old as time. Rich in fat-soluble vitamins and uniquely compatible with human skin, tallow has been used for centuries to nourish and protect. We source only the highest quality, grass-fed tallow because the integrity of our base ingredient matters.
To that we add carefully chosen oils. Lightweight grapeseed oil, silky and nourishing. Conditioning castor oil, which softens and supports a healthy-looking complexion. And our herb-infused oils, botanicals steeped slowly and intentionally to draw out their natural goodness before they ever reach your skin.
Where it fits, we finish with natural unbleached beeswax that is pure and unprocessed, which gives each product its perfect texture while helping seal in moisture and protect the skin's surface.
That's it, no mystery and no shortcuts. Just ingredients your great-grandmother would recognize, blended with care in small batches to make sure every jar meets the standard we set for our own family.
Because that's exactly who we had in mind when we made it.
